No, it’s not that Jack Jones. But it’s a fine bottle of wine, with tight, hard fruit that opens slowly into a lovely mélange of plums and cherries. Tangy and tannic, this one needs some more time to come together, but all the components are right there.

Despite its youth it’s ready to rock, with appealing varietal fruit, sparked by a nose that says this is what Syrah should be, very pretty and forward. It’s a bright and snappy wine, spiced up with plenty of pepper.
