If you like Paso Zin, and a lot of people do, this one’s for you. It has the requisite flavors of wild berries and tobacco, with a rich streak of herbs and peppery spices, and is very dry and balanced. Drinks a bit hot but not enough to worry about.

Pretty rich for an inexpensive Chard, and a single vineyard one at that. Pleasant flavors of peaches and pears are framed in oak. There’s a slight burn in the finish, but it’s not too hot.

Robust, full-bodied and bone dry, with baked cherry pie, black currant and mocha flavors accented by sweet toasty oak, this wine is wrapped in thick, jagged tannins. The best thing about it is the rich, ripe, deeply fruity flavors.
