Clos Dubreuil 2004 Red (Saint-Émilion)

With its ultra-low yields, and 20 months aging in new French oak, this is very much in the mold of the “garage wines” of the 1990s. It is superrich, weighed down with luscious fruit, powerful toast and spice wood flavors. At 14% alcohol, it is strong indeed for Bordeaux. — R.V. (6/1/2007)
