Clos Pegase 2006 Tenma Vineyard Hommage Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley)

This is the winery’s Artist Series Cabernet, grown primarily in Calistoga, and it’s a good example of the 2006 vintage, which was not a strong one for Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine shows ripe flavors of blackberries and cherries, coated with plenty of new oak. It’s delicious, but soft and not suited to aging. Best now through 2012.  — S.H.  (2/1/2011)
