Cloudline 2007 Pinot Gris

  1. $15
This inexpensive Pinot Gris has pear fruit with spicy highlights that somehow conjure up caraway. It’s wrapped in yeasty flavors of fresh-baked bread and plenty of lemony acid.  — P.G.  (4/1/2009)

  1. $21
Cloudline wines are a project of importer Dreyfus Ashby, vinified with guidance from DDO’s Veronique Drouhin. It’s a professional product, clean and straightforward, with tart red fruits and striking acidity. The tannins, ripe and firm, provide some finishing heft.  — P.G.  (6/1/2010)

Cloudline 2008 Pinot Gris

  1. $15
This is an acid-lover’s Pinot Gris, quite tart and lemony. The lightly ripened fruit hints at green apples and pears, with nicely managed phenolics that put an edge on the finish.  — P.G.  (6/1/2010)

Cloudline 2007 Pinot Noir

  1. $15
Inexpensive Pinot Noir is perhaps the most difficult wine to make, but Cloudline gives it a good effort. Quite light, it has clean and pleasantly fruity flavors of red currants and berries; there just isn’t any weight to the wine. It’s almost ghost-like.  — P.G.  (4/1/2009)
