Conde de Jauregui 2006 Crianza Tempranillo-Garnacha (Rioja)
Online Exclusive
Price
$13
A bit burnt and roasted on the bouquet, with leathery, stemmy red fruit aromas. The palate is dry, tannic and tastes of roasted raspberry, tart cherry and herbs. Finishes with herbal, tomato notes and tang.

Conde de Jauregui 2004 Reserva Red (Rioja)
Online Exclusive
Price
$17
Sweet and raisiny, and not in the best shape. This mature Rioja is drying in the mouth and a bit overaged already; it tastes of raisin, coffee and spice, but there’s a bit of heat and baked character to it as well. For an ’04 reserva it’s just not as lively and fresh as it should be.

Conde de Jauregui 2009 Vendimia Seleccionada Tempranillo-Garnacha (Rioja)
Online Exclusive
Price
$9
Smells like tarmac and tire rubber initially, and it remains stemmy and staunch even with air. The feel is dilute yet edgy, and the flavors suggest generic red berry and a dash of spice. Fades quickly on the finish, which is probably a good thing.
