Dry, smoky and showing a touch of leather, this is a smooth crianza with bright berry flavors, a bit of heft, and well-applied oak that doesn’t overwhelm. Black cherry and raspberry flavors are bright, and the vanilla and butter elements are controlled and should subside in due time. Drink now into 2010.

Covers all the principle bases via aromas of ripe dark fruit, bacon, spice and herbs. The palate is a bit soft but it’s serious, with raspberry, cherry and plum flavors. Tastes slightly roasted on the finish, with spice and solid tannins. Ranks as a very good all-occasion red. Imported by Pasternak Wine Imports.

A touch murky and leafy at first, with vanilla and red fruit aromas. Runs crisp and tangy, with length, a lean structure and snappy pie cherry, red plum and vanilla flavors. Fresh and tight on the finish, with leftover juiciness. A good wine for tapas and basic salty foods.

Dry berry aromas and a rubbery, saucy quality lead to gritty cherry and raspberry flavors. Very thin and starching, with potent tannins and astringent acids. Imported by Pasternak Wine Imports.
