Profoundly rich and complex, a blend of all five Bordeaux varietals. This results in a melange of flavors including blackcurrants and cassis, olives and sweet roasted peppers, dried herbs, and cured tobacco. The tannins are soft, but there is a boost of firm acidity that suggests ageability.

Loaded up front with bright fruit redolent of blueberry, plum and black cherry. An attractive tangy edge gives lift, while toasty oak rounds things off. Though light-textured, the wine still carries plenty of weight and is lovely and long to the end. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec from Alexander Valley Vineyards.

This is a new proprietary wine from the Wetzel Family Estate, owners of Alexander Valley Vineyards. It’s a blend of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc. The wine is of medium weight and intensity, well balanced with brambly blackberry and raspberry fruit. The finish is on the short side.
