There are two kinds of good Pinot in California, the rich, full-bodied ones and the silkier, more accessible Pinots. This is the latter type. It’s not an ager, but has a delicate elegance, and easy but complex flavors of cherries, cola, herb tea and Asian spices.

Mature, but showing an attractive nose with a spicy, saddle quality. However, the thin fruit seems cedary or burnt and the wine closes with some astringency. Seems tired already.
