Wow. This is one big, impressive Sauvignon Blanc. It's the grass and gooseberry, and the acidity. The wine hits the palate like a bomb, dry and crisp and explosive. Mid-palate, the fruit emerges, peaches, figs, melons, limes, kiwi. This is De Loach's first OFS Sauvignon and it's worthy of the designation.

Super-drinkable for its creamy texture, touch of sour lees, sweet oaky buttered toast, crisp acidity and ripe blast of pineapples, Asian pears, green apples and peppery spices. Perfect for the table with salmon, pork and chicken.

One of the few wines from this cooler Sonoma appellation in our tasting, and a nice one indeed. The aromas differ from the norm; there’s spearmint, licorice gumdrops, herbs and tobacco. Nice and distinctive at all points: clean raspberry fruit, dusty tannins on the finish, and a peppery streak. A few years will bring it together even more.

Cuts an elegant profile, with its ripe blackberry fruit and judicious use of oak. Supple and even, it shows good balance. The pepper, chocolate and licorice-tinged finish is long, with fine tannins. It’s a big wine, but not awkward, showing depth and style.

Made in a ripe style, this Cab bursts with jammy black currant, plum and coffee flavors that finish rich and sweet. But it’s also got a firm texture, with fine-grained tannins and a keen edge of acidity. The result is a balanced and stylish Cab that should hold for at least seven years.

This finest selection Chardonnay is a blend of the winery’s various vineyards. It’s pretty oaky, with vanilla, buttered toast and honey dominating, yet there are enough tropical fruit, orange, pear and apricot flavors, and brisk acidity, to counter-balance the wood. Drink now.

Nicely perfumed on the nose, with gentle notes of cinnamon and clove accenting black cherries and plums. It’s medium in body, with that elusive Pinot suppleness and velvety mouthfeel, finishing with a bit of cola and spice.

Pear, pineapple and citrus aromas with spearmint accents comprise the bouquet of this Russian River favorite. The wine is round and soft with tea, lemon, tropical fruit and buttercream flavors. It’s light- to medium- weight, but with enough complexity to hold the taster’s interest, and a persistent, tangy, sweet and sour back-end fade.
