Reductive and faintly smelling of merde at first, this seems to lessen with aeration to reveal modest cherry fruit carried along on a rather pinched and lean palate. Dusty tannins on the finish suggest another year or two of cellaring might help, although it will never be charming.  — J.C.  (9/1/2006)
