Do Ferreiro 2003 Cepas Vellas Albariño (Rías Baixas)
Editors' Choice
Price
$33
From the outset, this beauty oozes character. The whole exceeds the parts by a sum of three, as the wine delivers full flavors, complexity and a near Burgundian minerality. This is what great Albariño is about, even if it’s from a hot vintage. Spicy yet thumping with guava, banana and citrus. Simply delicious.

Do Ferreiro 2005 Albariño (Rías Baixas)
Price
$24
Waxy melon and apple aromas are intricate and welcoming, while the melon and citrus flavors are just as they should be. Do Ferreiro is a consistent high-end producer in Rias Baixas and its ’05 Albariño is great. It picks up steam as it goes along and will go great with salads and seafood. Drink now.

Do Ferreiro 2009 Albariño (Rías Baixas)
Price
$27
Can’t call it floral and bright on the nose, but it’s not over the hill or maderized, either; more neutral than anything. The mouth is fresh, lively and loaded with lime, green apple and length. Approaching peak maturity and then will start to fade. A smooth operator with depth, minerality and fine acidity.

Do Ferreiro 2009 Rebisaca White (Rías Baixas)
Price
$25
Maybe it’s already late in this wine’s lifespan but the nose has a corny, overly mature set of aromas that fail to convey freshness. The mouth is more zesty and citrusy, with round flavors of orange, tangerine and dry melon. A basic wine without a lot of complexity or finish.

Do Ferreiro 2001 Albariño (Rías Baixas)
Price
$20
The nose is flat, offering nothing offensive but also nothing terribly attractive. Lemon and green apple flavors define the tart palate, while the finish is zippy and acidic, but not piercingly so.
