Domaine Chandon 2000 Etoile Sparkling (Napa-Sonoma)

  1. $29
This is Chandon’s vintage brut. It is a blend of 75 percent Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The wine has been aged on the lees, and is quite dry. You’ll notice right away how silky it is, how it caresses the palate. The flavors are subtle, suggesting the faintest cherries, raspberries, peaches, vanilla, smoke. The finish is elegant. The price is entirely fair.  — S.H.  (12/31/2006)

Domaine Chandon NV Etoile Sparkling (Napa-Sonoma)

  1. $35
Stylish and elegant, a full-bodied brut with plenty of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay character in the fruity, peach and lime flavors. Nice integration, with intensity and balance. The finish is dry and clean, with a hint of hazelnut.  — S.H.  (12/1/2003)

Domaine Chandon NV Etoile Sparkling (Napa County)

  1. $35
Pale in color, light in aroma and flavor, and quite tart, this bubbly is citrusy, with sharp acids and a rough mouthfeel. It strives for elegance, but could use more body, flavor and finesse.  — S.H.  (12/1/2002)
