Domaine Chantal Lescure 2002 Clos de Vougeot Pinot Noir (Clos Vougeot)

$100
A wine that reveals all the possibilities of great Clos de Vougeot. It is rich, spicy, packed with new wood but also with great fresh fruit. Underneath, there are huge, dense tannins.

Domaine Chantal Lescure 2004 Les Suchots Premier Cru Pinot Noir (Vosne-Romanée)
Like so many wines of Vosne-Romanée, this is very complete. All the elements are in the right place, showing power, structure and delicious ripe fruit. Pure, fresh acidity and black fruits lead to a lifted aftertaste.

Black, sweet fruits pile high in this wine, which has nice structure and dense tannins. It also has a great, brooding presence, and promises a slow development.

Domaine Chantal Lescure 2004 Pinot Noir (Volnay)
Although there is no mention on the label, this wine comes from a vineyard called La Famine. Something of a misnomer, because this wine is more about generosity and plenty than famine. It’s soft, ripe, with dusty, easy tannins, but there is a core of dryness. The acidity shows at the end.

Domaine Chantal Lescure 2004 Les Chouacheux Premier Cru Pinot Noir (Beaune)
From the south end of the Beaune appellation, this premier cru has produced a gentle, soft, balanced wine, with attractive, light acidity. Made from 50-year-old vines, it is well structured, with ripe, almost sweet, strawberry fruit flavors.

Domaine Chantal Lescure 2004 Les Damodes Premier Cru Pinot Noir (Nuits-St.-Georges)
Very firm and foursquare, this is a dry, fairly tough wine. In between are layers of juicy fruit and fresh acidity. Typically for Nuits-Saint-Georges, this will need a few years aging.
