Dark and extracted, with dark plum and chocolate aromas followed by layers of lush plum, fudge and dried-spice flavors. All of this richness is supported by masses of drying tannins on the finish, suggesting a few years of aging is warranted. Drink 2008–2012.

Clean aromas of strawberries and cherries. This Tavel is on the heavier side, with white chocolate notes weighing down the berry fruity. But it’s still reasonably balanced, thus it presents itself as being rich rather than heavy.
