Domaine de Montgilet 2007 Chenin Blanc (Anjou)
Characteristic almond paste and yellow fruit aromas lead to a fresh wine flavored with apples and custard. There is a tight edge of citrus, but this is a wonderfully fresh, accessible wine that relishes its open, nutty flavors.

Domaine de Montgilet 2006 Cuvée Suptil Cabernet Sauvignon-Cabernet Franc (Anjou)
Spicy and minty, here is a wine full of fresh, soft flavors, but given a backbone by some dusty, warm tannins. It is perfumed, the fruit given a vibrant edge, and demanding food. Drink now and over two years.

Domaine de Montgilet 2008 Chenin Blanc (Coteaux de l'Aubance)
The Aubance is part of the network of small rivers that eventually flows into the Loire in Anjou. The appellation produces gently sweet wines like this one, from Chenin Blanc. This is as much fresh as sweet, with light ripe apple flavors and pear juice acidity. Drink now, but it is worth aging over five years.

Domaine de Montgilet 2007 Cabernet Franc (Rosé de Loire)
Still retaining its freshness after 18 months, but with an extra element of caramel and herbs, this is an attractive rosé, certainly to go with food this summer, layering raspberries and crisp acidity in a balanced way.

Domaine de Montgilet 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon-Cabernet Franc (Anjou)
From an average red vintage in the Loire, this shows a tight, almost stalky character, its spice and fruitcake flavors cut with dry tannins and just an edge of green pepper. Not for aging, drink this year.

Domaine de Montgilet 2007 Cabernet Franc (Cabernet d'Anjou)
An over-sweet rosé for the style. The strawberry freshness that should be there is missing, and the wine has become cloying. Fine when well chilled, perhaps.
