Domaine des Remizières 2007 Cuvée Emilie Syrah (Hermitage)

  • Online Exclusive
Complexity pours off the wine's nose in the form of fine herbs, meatiness, floral spice and deep black fruit. It's as full and creamy as you could want, with very ripe but balanced blackberry, pepper and more. Maybe a bit soft and over-the-top, but that just means it's more ready to go than most Hermitage reds.  — W.E.  (10/15/2010)

Domaine des Remizières 2007 Cuvée Cristophe Syrah (Crozes-Hermitage)

  • Online Exclusive
Fragrant, harmonious nose of ripe blackberry fruit, floral nuances, touch of ash and barnyard. Striking pure fruit flavors with peppery notes, chocolate and underpinning spice. Full-bodied with a succulent mouthful, quite extracted but balanced and a long tannic finish. Needs some time.  — W.E.  (10/15/2010)

Domaine des Remizières 2000 Cuvée Emilie White (Hermitage)

A wine that is dominated by ripe exotic fruits, plums and a hint of green figs. There is wood, but it is not at all obvious, while the ripeness is balanced with a touch of acidity and some attractive bitter-almond flavors.  — R.V.  (6/1/2002)

Domaine des Remizières 2004 Syrah (Saint-Joseph)

  • Online Exclusive
Impressively dark in color and flavor, with bold plum and pepper notes leading the way. It’s crisp and youthfully tight, and although it lacks flesh now, it should blossom in 2–3 years. Drink 2008–2012.  — J.C.  (11/15/2006)

Domaine des Remizières 2000 Cuvée Christophe Syrah (Crozes-Hermitage)

  1. $30
Named after owner Philippe Desmeure’s son, this has a new wood dominated wine, but also with dusty tannins and ripe, black fruit flavors. It was aged in small 225-liter barriques and this has given the wine a polished, ripe perfume of spices and new wood.  — R.V.  (6/1/2002)

Domaine des Remizières 2004 Cuvée Particulière Syrah (Crozes-Hermitage)

A bit floral at first...this seems promising. A medium-bodied wine that folds in cherries and berries judiciously mixed with peppery spice. Firmly structured, this could age 2–3 years.  — J.C.  (11/15/2006)

Domaine des Remizières 2004 Cuvée Christophe Syrah (Crozes-Hermitage)

This is distinctive, marked by minor floral notes alongside green olives and red pepper flakes. Cherry fruit provides a foundation for all of this complexity, but overall it lacks a little concentration. Pretty and charming; drink now.  — J.C.  (11/15/2006)

Domaine des Remizières 2000 Cuvée Particulière Syrah (Crozes-Hermitage)

A long maceration and aging on large 600-liter barrels has given this wine a dominance of fruit flavors. Aromas of violets and ripe fruits follow on the palate with red fruits, fine tannins, spices and a good twist of acidity.  — R.V.  (6/1/2002)
