Domaine du Joncier 2004 Red (Lirac)

Reflects the overall style of the vintage, featuring crisp rather than lush fruit and fresh perfumes rather than baked aromas. Cherry takes center stage, supported by ripe tannins. A solid effort.

A lifted, slightly volatile note on the nose, then plenty of spice and prune aromas. this is a big, velvety-textured wine that's also a bit ponderous. Packs in heavyweight power, but lacks a little finesse.

Domaine du Joncier 2003 Cuvée Les Muses Red (Lirac)

$25
Lifted and slightly volatile on the nose, but there’s also plenty of baked black cherry and plum fruit. A high proportion of Mourvèdre gives a tannic grip to this wine and a hint of tar as well.
