Domaine le Colombier 2004 Vieilles Vignes Red (Vacqueyras)
-
$15
This impressive blend of 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah admirably showcases the attributes of Vacqueyras, featuring bold red-fruit scents accented by clove spice. It’s creamy and full-bodied, with raspberry and strawberry fruit buttressed by firm tannins on the finish. Drink now–2012.

Domaine le Colombier 2004 Cuvée Tradition Red (Vacqueyras)
-
$13
A bit lighter than the Vieilles Vignes bottling, but thisis still a very good rendition of Vacqueyras. Raspberry and strawberry notes mark the nose and palate, while the tannins are supple. Very drinkable, finishing with peppery spice. Drink now–2009.

Domaine le Colombier 2005 White (Vacqueyras)
-
$15
A relatively flat, neutral white, this is a blend of 40% Viognier, 30% Marsanne and 30% Grenache Blanc. It’s not too broad or fat, but none too crisp, either. Think of it as a clean, blank canvas you can perk up with any type of food.
