Domaine les Bruyeres 2004 Les Croix Syrah (Crozes-Hermitage)
-
$27
Vigneron David Reynaud has only been apart from the co-operative for a couple of years, but this is an impressive effort. On the nose, this wine has it all, from flowers to spice to fruit. Then it backs that complexity up with mouthfilling flavors of tart red berries and finely wrought tannins on the finish. Drink now–2015.

Domaine les Bruyeres 2004 Syrah (Crozes-Hermitage)

$22
Starts with some tarry, almost cola-like ntoes on the nose, then adds espresso and caramel flavors and a touch of red fruit. Smooth—almost creamy—in texture, but lacks the depth and complexity of the Domaine’s Les Croix bottling.
