Donna Olga 2006 Sangiovese Grosso (Brunello di Montalcino)

Plush, ripe, soft and smooth, this wine presents a long list of pleasurable attributes. It opens with a dark garnet color and blackberry, cherry, vanilla, mocha, espresso and tobacco aromas. There’s a very clean or pristine nature overall and the wine boasts ripe fruit flavors, backed by smoke and sweet spice.  — M.L.  (4/1/2011)

Donna Olga 2007 Le Cacce in Villa Sangiovese Grosso (Brunello di Montalcino)

Beautiful and sophisticated aromas of dried sage, eucalyptus, cola, wild berry and forest floor lead into a wine with a linear, long, polished and pretty berry nuances on the finish.  — M.L.  (5/1/2012)

Donna Olga 2007 Sangiovese Grosso (Brunello di Montalcino)

Inky dark concentration combines with a youthful, almost grapy quality in the mouth. Cola, chewy fruit, ripe density and exotic spices all are present while the mouthfeel is lean, crisp and structured.  — M.L.  (5/1/2012)

Donna Olga 2004 Sangiovese Grosso (Brunello di Montalcino)

  1. $80
Donna Olga brings us a firmly compact and pristine wine with aromas of smoke, coffee and espresso bean all backed by a pretty floral element that recalls dried violets. This Brunello is bright and clean with tart, chewy cherry flavors.  — M.L.  (6/1/2009)

Donna Olga 2001 Sangiovese (Brunello di Montalcino)

  1. $75
This wine has a cookie dough- like quality that pairs interestingly with herb, spice, cherry and vanilla aromas. Firm, drying tannins tune down the wine’s fruitiness and make it hard to see where it might be headed a few years from now. Imported by Vinifera Imports.  — W.E.  (4/1/2006)
