Beautiful. Really impresses for its power and elegance, but way too young. We’re entering a new era where some Pinots require cellaring and this is one of them. It’s all acidity, oak and primary fruit now, but with such a nuclear concentration of cherries, raspberries and pomegranates that it will easily develop. Could be something special by 2012.

Easy to like a lot now for its terrifically rich flavors of cherries, raspberries, pomegranates, mocha and smoky sandalwood flavors that take over and dazzle the palate. Also shows a silky, airy mouthfeel. But it’s way too young now, an obvious ager, and in fact demands time in the bottle. Stash this beauty. Best 2011–2013, possibly longer.

From the coolest part of Green Valley, this wonderfully rich Chardonnay has a steely crispness that hits the palate like a laser. The pineapple, apple, kiwi and lime flavors, enhanced with smoky oak, are complex and satisfying. This is a high-class wine that deserves to be served with gourmet fare.

Tremendously rich and oaky, with butterscotch-inspired pineapple, golden mango pear and Meyer lemon flavors that are as rich as crème brûlée. Dramatic now, if a bit overpowering. Calls for carefully crafted foods of the richest level, like lobster.

Exceedingly ripe and a little high in alcohol, this Syrah nonetheless is just delicious. It swamps the mouth with pie-filling flavors of blackberries, cherries and raspberries, sprinkled with savory baking spices and enriched with sweet, smoky, caramelized oak. With firm but pliant tannins, it’s a beautiful wine to drink now with roasted lamb or grilled steak.

The vineyard is in the coolest part of the Green Valley of the Russian River Valley. The wine, which is totally dry, is marked by brilliant acidity and long hangtime flavors of oranges, Meyer lemons and kiwi fruit, enriched by barrel fermentation and aging.

This is the best Jewel Block bottling ever from Dutton. The vineyard is in the heart of Green Valley, one of the coolest parts of Russian River, and the magnificent vintage has yielded a fantastically ripe wine, balanced with rich, crisp acidity. The flavors of cherries, raspberries, cola, tangerine zest and dusty Asian spices are rich and deep, but the wine is…

This is one of the palest Pinots of the vintage, so translucent, you can hardly believe its power. A blend of various Dutton Ranch vineyards the result is serious and fabulous, a complex wine with cherry, cola and spice flavors and a luxuriously silky texture. This is textbook, world class RRV Pinot from a very great vintage.
