Elk Creek Vineyards 2007 Estate Cabernet Franc (Kentucky)
Online Exclusive
Price
$35
Black fruit, pepper and spice lead this likeable sip from Kentucky. Red berry, cranberry and plum fruit mixed with pepper and vanilla gives it dimension, and the finish is both tart and spicy. A nice everyday red perfect for winter cuisine.

Elk Creek Vineyards 2006 Barrel Select Reserve Syrah (Kentucky)
Price
$40
Not a fruity wine, this Kentucky red shows vegetal humus and earth aromas that turn a bit stewed in the mouth. Nonetheless, there’s good concentration here and an attractive, vanilla-flavored finish. Drink up.

Elk Creek Vineyards 2007 Estate Chardonelle (Kentucky)
Online Exclusive
Price
$30
Dry, crisp and slightly viscous, this white shows excessive vanilla from oak treatment that smothers the fruit expression. Medium, buttery finish.

Elk Creek Vineyards 2006 Chardonnay (Kentucky)
Online Exclusive
Price
$18
After some reduced sulfur scents blew off, creamy, buttery notes emerged, giving way to apple and vanilla in the mouth. The short finish turns slightly tart at the end. No improvement with age.
