Eradus 2006 Sauvignon Blanc (Marlborough)

  • Editors' Choice
  1. $18
From the Awatere Valley, this is an exciting new discovery. It’s pungent, even sweaty at times, but also boasts plenty of passion fruit, and hints of melon and nectarine. The texture is rich and slightly oily, yet with a chalky, minerally component as well. Sure it’s herbal, but it’s also of undeniable quality for those who appreciate the style.  — J.C.  (7/1/2007)

Eradus 2009 Sauvignon Blanc (Marlborough)

  1. $20
Eradus continues a successful run with this year's Sauvignon Blanc. As usual, it's fairly pungent and herbal upfront, but then delivers waves of passion fruit. It's concentrated and fairly full-bodied for a Sauvignon, with a lingering finish.  — J.C.  (9/1/2010)

Eradus 2007 Sauvignon Blanc (Marlborough)

  • Editors' Choice
  1. $20
Much like the 2006, this is an excellent effort, combining ripe melon and fig flavors with leafy notes of fresh garden herbs and crisp citrus. It’s a touch viscous on the palate, finishing with superb length and freshness. Drink now.  — J.C.  (3/1/2008)

Eradus 2008 Sauvignon Blanc (Awatere Valley)

  • Editors' Choice
  1. $20
This is herbal and bell-peppery but not to an extreme, balanced by citrus and pineapple fruit. It’s medium- to full-bodied, with an appealing, slightly oily texture and great length. Drink now; probably would be great with ceviche.  — J.C.  (5/1/2009)

Score Chasers: NZ & AU 2011
Although this brand has been going for under a decade, it has become a perennial favorite, showing great harmony and balance in its combination of sweet pea and citrus aromas and flavors. Drink it over the next year.  — J.C.  (9/1/2011)

Eradus 2007 Pinot Noir (Marlborough)

  1. $25
This wine is made in a more complex, earthier style than many Marlborough Pinots, blending hints of beet, mushroom and tea with black cherries. If it seems a little chunky in texture right now, give it another 6–12 months in the bottle, then drink it over the next 4–5 years.  — J.C.  (5/1/2009)

Eradus 2009 Ana Sauvignon Blanc (Marlborough)

  • Online Exclusive
  1. $16
Starts off fine, marked by hints of sweat, stone fruit and honey, but it's chunky on the palate, with a sense of sweetness that deadens the finish.  — J.C.  (9/1/2010)
