Eugenio Collavini 2005 Broy White (Collio)

  1. $40
A blend of Chardonnay, Tocai Friulano and Sauvignon, the wine is supple, soft and creamy in the mouth and accented by bright fruit tones such as pineapple, banana, lemon soda and an unexpected—albeit totally appealing—touch of cracked white peppercorn.  — M.L.  (5/1/2007)

Eugenio Collavini 2002 Merlot Dal Pic (Collio)

Very nice use of oak here: bottle aging enhances sweet vanilla aromas to the right point without overwhelming fresh berry fruit. An intriguing and complex nose is rounded off by notes of blueberry, menthol and licorice. Characterized by elegance and finesse; good structure and very dry tannins appear on the close.  — M.L.  (3/1/2007)
