Eventide Cellar 2006 Viognier (Wellington)
-
$16
Spicy, fresh and floral, the nose on this Viognier immediately marks it as a wine to be savored. On the palate, it's lighter and fresher than the typical Viognier, with its white peach and lemon, but still full of dimension. Balanced acids keep it dancing on the tongue. Pair with chicken or fish.

From exacting winemaker Andrew Barns, this rich, distinctive Cabernet starts with aromas of blackberry, black currant, mocha and mint, leading into approachable flavors of cherry, peppers, clove and spice. Fruity but balanced, and ready to drink now.

Eventide Cellar 2002 Wellington Shiraz (South Africa)
-
$15
Richly scented, with aromas that resemble a cross between graham crackers and Nilla Wafers, plus a few tablespoons of blackberry preserves. It’s still young and rambunctious, with assertive oak warring a bit with the jammy fruit, but should settle down in another year or two, while still retaining a bit of an untamed, rustic edge. Imported by Southern Starz, Inc.
