Expression 44 2009 Roserock Vineyard Pinot Noir (Eola-Amity Hills)

  1. $65
This single- vineyard bottling is like a reserve-level companion to the other 2009 Oregon Pinot from Expression Vineyards. The fruit is tart and sappy, a concentration of raspberry and cranberry juice, with a lick of chocolate threading through the finish. Young and tannic, this will improve with a few more years in bottle.  — P.G.  (10/1/2011)

Expression 44 2006 Willakia Vineyard Pinot Noir (Eola-Amity Hills)

  1. $50
From young vines, this wine has a bit more concentration than the regular ‘44’ bottling; with black cherry and plenty of new oak. But what shines is the spicy assertiveness of the Eola-Amity Hills region.  — P.G.  (2/1/2009)

Expression 44 2006 Pinot Noir (Eola-Amity Hills)

  1. $40
This bold, expressive Pinot Noir bursts open with spice, herb and leaf then rolls into flavors of vanilla cream and tangy red fruits. The spicy elements wrap into all the other flavors, giving lift and life; this is an exciting wine, though not necessarily one to cellar.  — P.G.  (2/1/2009)

Expression 44 2009 Pinot Noir (Eola-Amity Hills)

  1. $36
A spicy, bold, fruit-powered take on Pinot Noir. William Hill is the proprietor. The wine comes across as sort of a California-Oregon hybrid, mixing the slightly herbal, moderately tannic Oregon grapes with a fruit-forward, cranberry core.  — P.G.  (10/1/2011)
