Fattorie Azzolino 2008 Chardonnay (Sicilia)
This is a beautiful expression of Chardonnay from Sicily that hits all the right spots. The wine is fresh and fragrant and there are sophisticated notes here of honeysuckle, passion fruit and a touch of toasted almond. It’s smooth and very silky to the end and would pair with fried fish or crabcakes.

Fattorie Azzolino 2002 Nero d’Avola (Sicilia)
Price
$15
Fruity and tight, with a reduced nose of raspberry and red plum. The palate is fresh, fruity and tasty, with healthy acidity and grabby tannins. Fairly tart and red-fruit dominated, but ultra crisp and clean. A sure thing with pizza.

Fattorie Azzolino 2002 Chardonnay (Sicilia)
Price
$27
Gold in color, with a ton of oak. But you know what? It works. The resin and vanilla aromas over time become attractive, while the rich palate deals coconut, toffee and baked white fruits. Yes, it’s a barrique bomber from a hot climate, but it’s interesting and should go well with roast fowl or foie gras.

Fattorie Azzolino 2003 Tranùi White (Sicilia)
Price
$15
Nice and natural, with moderate spice and stone-fruit aromas. A bit zippy and sharp courtesy of full-form acidity, but that just makes it all the more forward and food-friendly. Pineapple and green-apple flavors are what to expect. More zesty than charming.

Fattorie Azzolino 2008 D'Incanto Grillo (Sicilia)
Online Exclusive
Fresh, tonic and redolent of cut grass, citrus and stone fruit, here’s a great fish or tuna salad wine from sunny Sicily. The grape used is Grillo and the wine offers bright crispness on the close.

Fattorie Azzolino 2001 Di'More Red (Sicilia)
Price
$27
A touch scattered on the nose, with leather, oak and bright berry fruit. Surprisingly tart on the palate, with plum, cherry and berry flavors. A snappy wine with a good core of cherry, but ultimately more racy than classy.

Fattorie Azzolino 2008 Tranoi White (Sicilia)
This is a very light and informal Sicilian blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Catarratto (a native grape of the island) that would pair with tuna or chicken salad. The operative word, however, is light.
