The nose is chunky and meaty, but also kind of confusing; it doesn’t really lead you anywhere. The palate is intense, even if it’s mildy sweet and a tad sugary. This wine is definitely one dimensional, but it has proper weight to it and a rich mouthfeel.

The nose has earth and chocolate aromas, but mostly it’s about oak—big, driving oak. That same heavy woodiness lays across the palate, effectively masking any fruit that might lie below. And the finish is pure butter, vanilla and menthol. Simply put: too much oak for the fruit.

The nose is light and airy, offering a simple set of aromas with just a modicum of red fruit. Cherry and red raspberry flavors lead into a tangy, low-voltage finish. There isn’t much to gripe about here, but in the same breath there isn’t much to compliment, either.

Though medium-bodied, this wine is a serious lightweight in terms of flavor. If you're looking for an essence of melon water with a lemon garnish to keep you cool, look no further. If it's a complex wine you want, probably best to keep looking.
