Finca Flichman 2008 Dedicado Red (Mendoza)

  1. $30
Dense, earthy and rich upfront, with bold black plum and berry flavors that hit the right chords. Feels slick, deep and polished, with blackberry, cassis, coffee and coconut flavors that feed into a simmering finish that runs for miles. An excellent blend of Cab, Malbec and Syrah to drink now and over the next five years.  — M.S.  (5/1/2012)

Finca Flichman 2008 Parcela 26 Limited Edition Malbec (Mendoza)

  1. $167
After picking yourself up off the floor having digested the price, the wine is excellent but not otherwordly. Sweet, dense and calm on the nose, with alluring black fruit and raisin aromas. Feels hefty and gritty, with rooty, sweet flavors of brown sugar and baked blackberry. Finishes round, big and smooth, with generally good balance. 120 cases made; drink now…  — M.S.  (5/1/2012)

Finca Flichman 1998 Reserva Syrah (Mendoza)

  1. $13
Argentina’s wines are, it seems, as meaty as its national dishes. This Mendoza Reserva shows roast beef, spice and smoke on the nose, and a full, rich, even mouthfeel. The palate delivers dark oak, blackberry and meat flavors with a healthy dose of black pepper. Finishes dark and peppery, with decent length.  — W.E.  (10/1/2001)

Finca Flichman 1999 Syrah (Mendoza)

  1. $10
Light berry aromas and flavors make up this simple quaffer that nonetheless offers enough substance to satisfy. Similar to Côtes-du-Rhône; it closes with licorice notes and sweet, creamy oak. Of interest, Flichman made one of Argentina’s very first Syrahs back in 1974.  — M.S.  (11/15/2001)

Finca Flichman 2006 Misterio Rosé Shiraz-Malbec (Mendoza)

  • Online Exclusive
  1. $8
Sweet fruit and cinnamon notes open the nose before it turns funky and less than pure. In the mouth, there's heavy plum and blueberry flavors. Overall it's too clumsy and heavy to rate better. The blend is 50/50 Malbec and Shiraz.  — M.S.  (7/1/2007)
