Francone 2006 Riserva Nebbiolo (Barbaresco)

  • Online Exclusive
This is a beautiful wine that focuses on complexity and elegance rather than heft and power. In fact, the Riserva Barbaresco presents traditional aromas of small dried berry, cassis, cola and pressed violets that are typical of the Nebbiolo grape. The mouthfeel is tight, tannic and could use 5–10 more years of cellar aging.  — M.L.  (9/1/2011)

Francone 2007 Nebbiolo (Barolo)

From the area of La Morra in the Langhe, this elegant Barolo delivers a tight, traditional style with sharp aromas of blueberry, spice, teriyaki sauce and root beer. There’s very nice depth and density here with a bright, menthol-driven finish.  — M.L.  (9/1/2011)

Francone 2006 Nebbiolo (Barolo)

This youthful and lively Barolo comes from a winery in the La Morra municipality of the Langhe. Although the oak influences are still discernable, this wine will relax and soften with time. At this young age, you’ll recognize aromas of cherry, vanilla, pipe tobacco, spice and red rose. The mouthfeel is marked by bright acidity and firmness.  — M.L.  (12/1/2010)
