G. H. Mumm NV Grand Cru Brut Sparkling (Champagne)

  1. $60
Using only grapes from Mumm’s own grand cru vineyards, winemaker Dominique Demarville has produced this impressive new cuvée. With a high proportion of reserve wines (from previous vintages), this is a well-integrated, elegant wine, with citrus charac ers and just a light touch of honey. Imported by Allied Domecq Wines USA.  — R.V.  (12/1/2005)

G. H. Mumm 1998 Cuvée R. Lalou Brut Sparkling (Champagne)

  1. $159
This prestige cuvée from Mumm is maturing well, although still with many years’ development left. It has a rich, toasty character, with fresh grapefruit and crisp greengages. Drink this opulent Champagne now, or keep for several years.  — R.V.  (12/1/2010)

G. H. Mumm 1998 Cuvée R. Lalou Brut Sparkling (Champagne)

  • Cellar Selection
  1. $140
This new release from Mumm is a selection from 12 of the best vineyards owned or run by the company. It is certainly a complex wine, finely balanced with layers of intense, mature fruits, very mineral in structure, and with the crispness of the acidity acting as a support to the citrus and vanilla flavors. Worth aging for another 4–5 years.  — R.V.  (12/31/2007)

G. H. Mumm NV Grand Cru Brut Sparkling (Champagne)

  1. $60
This is a classy package, and the wine lives up to it, showing extra dimensions of power and weight. The flavors are layered and unfold gracefully; apple to citrus to pineapple. Then it slides into stone, chalk and fennel, moving finally to a nicely etched, crystalline clarity as it slowly fades across the palate.  — P.G.  (12/1/2006)

G. H. Mumm NV Brut Rosé Sparkling (Champagne)

  1. $52
Rich and smoky, with a powerful blast of dustiness. Nectarine flavors carry the long, fresh palate to a clean, fruit-forward finish. Shows a tiny burnt, rustic character and isn’t overly lively in terms of bead. Good for drinking this year and next. Imported by Allied Domecq Wines USA.  — M.S.  (12/31/2005)

G. H. Mumm NV Cramant Brut Chardonnay (Champagne)

  1. $70
From a single 100% grand cru vineyard in the village of Cramant. Actually it is a crémant de Cramant, indicating a Champagne with slightly less effervescence and a lighter approach. Unusual, spicy, fennel-infused flavors lead into a silky, vanilla custard core, with hints of sandalwood and noticeable residual sugar. Tough match to food; great apéritif.  — P.G.  (12/15/2002)

G. H. Mumm NV Mumm de Cramant Grand Cru Brut Chardonnay (Champagne)

  1. $75
Once called Crémant de Cramant, this has long been Mumm’s signature Champagne. Creamy and soft, it is deliciously balanced, a wine that is both crisp and toasty, with mouthwatering acidity to go with its white currant and green apple flavors.  — R.V.  (12/1/2010)

G. H. Mumm NV Mumm de Cramant Grand Cru Brut Chardonnay (Champagne)

  1. $61
Formerly known as Crémant de Cramant (a name now banned because it refers to sparkling wines from Burgundy, Alsace, the Loire and Limoux), Mumm continues to make this blanc de blancs, which is famed for its lightness. It is great to see they are also giving the wine some bottle age, which brings out delicious, toasty, nutty characters. Imported by Allied Domecq…  — R.V.  (12/1/2005)
