Gandia 2003 Fusta Nova Moscatel (Valencia)
Price
$12
Starts out rather unrefined, with aromas of petrol and turpentine. But in the mouth it’s all about ripe Moscatel, and there’s no chemical influence to speak of. Flavors of banana, caramel and mango are sweet and sticky. An unctuous ride; pull out the knife and fork. Imported by Vicente Gandia PLA.

Gandia 2002 Hoya De Cadenas Reserva Tempranillo (Utiel-Requena)
Best Buy
Price
$9
This Tempranillo is spicy and solid enough. The wine comes across ripe and clean, with forward cherry and raspberry flavors. It’s rather crisp and basic, but it seems highly food-friendly and ultimately it’s easy to drink.
