Here’s a Vino Nobile Riserva (made with 100% Prugnolo Gentile) that shows the integrity of fruit of this good vintage. The wine shows harmony and a nice balance between fruit flavors, spice, acidity and structure. It’s not very intense, but is composed and well proportioned.

Here is a well-priced Vino Nobile (90% Prugnolo Gentile and 10% Canaiolo Nero) that boasts a luminous ruby color and fresh aromas of cherry, almond and cola. The wine is buoyant and intense and rewards the palate with a dose of fresh acidity on the close.

Aromas of mature blackberries, prunes and darkly concentrated fruit characterize this dense Rosso di Montepulciano. The wine is 90% Prugnolo Gentile and 10% Canaiolo Nero and it offers lasting aromas of clove, cinnamon and allspice. Great low price too.

Possesses some decent black-cherry aromas and flavors with leathery, earthy accents, but also a sour streak and a sulfurous note that refused to yield. The wine finishes dry, with some of the astringency shown by many 1998s.
