This is a nicely put together Chardonnay, offering enough creamy richness to balance the wine’s crisp acids. Pineapple and tangerine flavors dominate, lingering elegantly on the finish without revealing obvious oak flavors.

The oak in this wine is nicely integrated into the fruit, making it barely detectable amid the bold peach and melon flavors. Full and round in the mouth, then long and citrusy on the finish. Drink now.

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc, this firmly structured wine looks to require 3–5 years of cellaring. Right now, it’s firm-edged, with a ripe core of cassis fruit barely touched by mint.

Starts with subtle smoke aromas, then folds in pineapple, lime and custard flavors. This medium-bodied Chard has a cool-climate linearity to its structure, but also a padded, riper feel that brings texture and weight to the table. Drink now–2012.

You might not know it from this wine’s rather austere exterior, but this is actually from a warm site within the cool Yarra Valley. It’s a restrained, slightly herbal blend of 62% Cabernet, 27% Merlot and 11% Petit Verdot that finishes with a tough mouthful of tannin. Hold it for another 3–4 years and hope that the fruit holds up.

Starts off with scents of smoke and yellow plums, then folds in flavors of toasted marshmallow and peach on the palate. This is a medium- to full-bodied Chardonnay that manages to be ripe yet cool and reasonably structured at the same time. It should drink well for the next few years.

A medium-bodied Shiraz that turns crisp and savory on the finish, this wine’s core of blackberry and black cherry fruit is nicely embellished with shadings of spice and toasty oak. Drink now–2012.

There's a slightly herbal overtone to this wine's cranberry and brown sugar-cinnamon aromas, but it adds complexity rather than detracting from the fruit. It's supple and round in the mouth, turning crisper on the long finish. Drink now-2015.
