Rich and opulent, a Chardonnay that swings for a home run and hits a solid double. Shows oak-inspired flavors of grilled pineapples, peaches, pears and minerals, balanced by crisp acidity, with a dry finish.

The vineyard is on the Sonoma side of the Carneros. The wine is very dry and brisk in acidity, and its pineapple fruit flavors are grounded with minerals. Oak plays a subtle role. The winemaker calls it a premier cru Chablis-style wine, which is not a bad description, although it’s only ageable for 2–3 years before it plunges downhill.
