Grace Cellars 2008 Chardonnay (Wahluke Slope)

  • Editors' Choice
  1. $21
Fruit was sourced from the Doc Stewart vineyard, one of the region’s oldest, and fermented in American oak. Bright gold in color, it opens with rich scents of buttered nuts, stone fruits, and dusty spices. You will find a lot of flavor for the price, and the wine retains sufficient acidity to brighten up the finish with a lick of minerality.  — P.G.  (7/1/2011)

Grace Cellars 2007 Blessings Red Grenache-Syrah (Horse Heaven Hills)

  • Online Exclusive
  1. $28
The Blessings Red is 55% Grenache and 45% Syrah. Fragrant with hints of barnyard funk and sweet hay, this is drinking very well—perhaps at its peak—already. The fruit core is soft and broad, weaving an easy trail through the palate and finishing with a vibrant burst of flavor that suggests mint and marshmallow, along with caramel and toffee. Intriguing.  — P.G.  (7/1/2011)

Grace Cellars 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon (Columbia Valley (WA))

  • Online Exclusive
  1. $28
The blend includes 8% Syrah. Sourced from Chandler Reach and Destiny Ridge grapes, aged 19 months in French oak. Spicy and dusty scents accent plummy fruit that seems already to be on a quick aging curve. It’s drinking smoothly now, but showing some soft and secondary fruit flavors along with hints of dried leaf and sweet tomato.  — P.G.  (7/1/2011)
