H. Blin 2006 Millesime Brut Sparkling (Champagne)

  • Editors' Choice
  1. $60

Crisp, tight acidity and still-young, fresh fruitiness give this wine its initial brightness. Rich and full in the mouth, it also has a range of complex fruit flavors followed by hints of toastiness that will only continue to develop. It should be aged further, so drink from 2016.

H. Blin 2009 Quintessence Meunier Blanc de Noirs Extra Brut Pinot Meunier (Champagne)

  1. $85

From its base in the Marne Valley, Blin has access to the best Pinot Meunier. This rare Champagne—100% Pinot Meunier—has a richness and open fruitiness that impart ripe character, but with a tight, dry edge. The lightest pink color, it’s not quite a rosé, although it certainly has some raspberry flavors as well as orange zest and a tangy texture. Drink from 2016.

H. Blin 2002 Blin's Édition Limitée Millésime Extra Brut Sparkling (Champagne)

  1. $70

Tight acidity dominates this top cuvée from Blin, and between that and its strong citrus character, it needs time to breathe before drinking. Then it fills out with delicious, refreshing acidity, followed by a crisp finish.

H. Blin 2003 Édition Limitée Extra Brut Sparkling (Champagne)

  1. $70

Very dry in style, this is a beautifully crisp, tight and taut Champagne. It has citrus and green apple flavors, and is steely in character while also fruity. It could do well with some more bottle age.

H. Blin NV Blin’s Édition Limitée Extra Brut Rosé Sparkling (Champagne)

  1. $63

Even with some bottle age, this is a ripe and fruity wine. With a good edge of toastiness, it has lost its initial freshness, while gaining a round, rich character. It has great acidity and crispness on the finish.

H. Blin NV Premium Sparkling (Champagne)

  1. $45

There is an attractive yeasty character to this fresh wine. Apples and a touch of toast mingle easily on the wine that has some bottle age. It’s both crisp and rich, a very satisfying combination.
