“On the wings of dawn,” a quote from Psalm 139, is the name of this wine from Heidi Schröck. It’s a blend of five different grapes, fermented and aged in wood. The result is a wine that, while still young, shows enormous richness, along with apricot jelly flavors and great sweetness balanced with a dry layer of botrytis.

This is a mélange of four grapes – Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Yellow Muscat and Sauvignon Blanc. Inevitably each lends its character to what is an impressive complex wine, with high levels of acidity masked by the sweet orange flavors and layers of botrytis. It should age over many years.

A hugely sweet wine, almost the essence of botyrtis, made from 100% Pinot Blanc, with marmalade and orange peel flavors. There is a high level of acidity under all this sweetness, giving balance and complexity. This is as rich and concentrated as many TBAs.

A rare blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Furmint, the grape used in Tokaji in Hungary, this is a concentrated, elegant wine, almost delicate yet giving great sweetness and balancing acidity. This is a sweet wine that demands rich food, like blue cheeses, smoked meats, fruit desserts.

A single vineyard wine (Turner is the name of the vineyard). Based on 100% Furmint, a Hungarian grape, there is freshness that floats over the richness and sweetness, giving a lift of citrus to go with the orange marmalade flavors.

A warm, soft, very ripe wine, bringing pear and apple flavors into a mélange of caramel and vanilla. The wine has concentration along with spice, and a rich texture. It would benefit from a few years’ aging. Screwcap.

A perfumed wine, the blend an esoteric collection of grapes that include Weissburgunder, Welchriesling and Furmint. The wine is concentrated and rich, its spice and peach flavors intense and powerful. There’s a ginger bite, with the acidity just a touch to finish.

Attractive and fresh, with peaches and apricots mingling with honey and lemon. Despite its relatively high alcohol, this feels and tastes light; food-friendly.
