Impressively fine bubbles cascade up from the bottom of the glass, suggesting richness and elegance. There’s a lush creaminess in the mouth, packed with flavors of candied orange, apricot and pineapple. The wine scores a flavor bulls eye in every possible way, from the textured, enticing bouquet to the rich, mouth-filling fruit and on through the lingering, precise…

Big, full-bodied and creamy, this slightly sweet Champagne seems a slightly heavy, with buttered apple and spice notes that pick up toasty nuances on the finish.

Strong-willed and forward, with a mild sherry note but mostly fresh apple fruit as its driving force. Green apple and citrus dominate the palate, which is a bit aggressive and soda-like. Big and toasty late, with even more spunk. A rambunctious wine. Imported by Vranken America.

Really fine for a low-acid vintage, there’s an intriguing nose here with white pepper, sandalwood and pine-nut elements. There are mature notes to the apple, toast and pepper flavors, good backbone, and the texture is just lovely. This well-developed example still has youthful elements, and closes with a grapefruit-mineral finish that is both relaxed and complex.

This is Heidsieck Monopole's aperitif Champagne. Still young, it is light, crisp, dry and fruity, with flavors of the maturing Pinot Noir and the fresh, yeasty Chardonnay. It is in great balance now, a lively eager wine, ready to please.

Toasty and rich-smelling, like brioche, but it isn’t one-dimensional, as it picks up fruitier notes of apple and citrus. Ends on a chalky note. Imported by Vranken America.

Leads off with dusty aromas of crushed limestone blended with apple and citrus fruit. Flavors are richly yeasty and medium weight, picking up coconut nuances on the finish.

Overt and round, with chunky aromas of berries and stone fruits. Quite lively and zesty, with purity of flavors. Is it a touch limited in scope and complexity? Yes. But the nectarine and orange flavors are crystalline and the mouthfeel rocks. Imported by Vranken America.
