From one of Germany's best sites (the vineyard name is allowed to stand alone on the label, without reference to village), this is an outstanding effort. Aromas of lime, stone and wet sand convey an intense minerality, then flavors of honeydew, peach and apricot bring home the fruit. Light and zippy in the mouth, tart and clean on the finish.

Tastes richer than it smells: the aromas are of limes, crushed granite and underripe melon, but the mouth-filling flavors are ripe melon and peach. The mouthfeel is thick and viscous yet not cloying, finishing with just a touch of fresh-fruit sweetness.

Seems likely to be lean, given its opening aromas of flint and grapefruit, but fleshes out nicely on the palate, folding in peach and nectarine flavors along with a hint of sweetness. Has enough weight to be versatile with food, finishing just off-dry.
