The Chardonnay is fresh and clean, with no oak nor residual sugar. What it does have is plenty of ripe fruit, crisp acid and a slight impression of lime and quinine. It’s medium-bodied and shows surprising length, a Chardonnay for the 21st century.

Holy Cow is a new brand from Charles (House Wine, K Vintners) Smith. This is 100% Merlot, packed with ripe cherry fruit, baking spices, cut tobacco and a hint of earthiness in the finish. It’s not a big wine, but a flavorful one, and ready to drink now.
