Hoodsport 2002 Syrah (Yakima Valley)

  1. $27
Ultraripe blackberries carry a suggestion of briary-brambly stemminess in addition to the jammy fruit flavors. Creamy and supple in the mouth, ending on a soft, easy note.  — W.E.  (9/1/2005)

Hoodsport 1998 Reserve Chardonnay (Yakima Valley)

  1. $17
Smells oakier and fruitier than the regular bottling, with pretty peach and green-apple notes. There's a fair amount of richness on the palate. The fruit is spicy and ripe, and the oak adds spice and a sappy sweetness. Very balanced and likable, and certainly a nice food wine.  — S.H.  (11/15/2000)

Hoodsport 2002 Pinot Noir (Oregon)

  1. $27
Simple, with a soft, creamy, mint and vanilla aroma. Tart rhubarb flavors, or perhaps strawberries and cream, fill up the middle.  — W.E.  (11/1/2004)

Hoodsport 1998 Lemberger-Cabernet (Yakima Valley)

  1. $11
A fruity pop-style wine that tastes like cherry cola, only it’s well made, clean and balanced. The acidity seems high--it even feels a little prickly on the tongue. The mix is 67% Lemberger, 33% Cabernet Sauvignon.  — S.H.  (9/1/2000)

Hoodsport 1998 Gewürztraminer (Yakima Valley)

  1. $9
Has dense, heavy aromas of jasmine, cinnamon, rose petal, chocolate and citrus. Fruity and fairly sweet, with flavors of ripe peaches, nectarines and orange sherbet. Acidity is okay, but there's a heaviness, a thickness to the wine that makes it a bit awkward on the palate.  — S.H.  (11/15/2000)

Hoodsport 2005 Merlot (Columbia Valley (WA))

  1. $17
Light, soda flavors of raspberry and cherry lend modest appeal to this simple Merlot. It’s a straightforward style that finishes with a hint of chocolate.  — P.G.  (12/31/2007)
