Hunt Cellars 2000 Oldie But Goodie Tawny Port (Paso Robles)
-
$70
Really nice California Port-style wine, rich and very sweet, soft and complex, and so easy to drink now. It’s a lighter-bodied style, where the tannins don’t get in the way, and the milk chocolate, cassis, root beer, cola, caramel, licorice and spicy vanilla flavors are simply delicious.

Hunt Cellars 2000 Zinphony #2 Old Vines Zinfandel (Paso Robles)

. If anything, more concentrated than this winery’s Reserve. It’s hard to imagine denser, more powerful fruit. Explosively berried, yet dry, supple, balanced, and not overly alcoholic. Defines Paso Zin in its lushness, soft tannins and low, polished acidity. —S.H.

Hunt Cellars 2003 Bon Vivant Cabernet Sauvignon (Paso Robles)

$38
Soft, smooth and elegant in texture, savory in flavor, this Central Coast Cab tastes of cherries, cassis, mocha and licorice. Smoky oak turns up on the finish. Forward enough to drink now, but it should hold for a couple of years.
