Il Falchetto 2007 Bricco Paradiso Barbera (Barbera d'Asti Superiore)

  • Online Exclusive
Here’s a mature expression of Barbera with ripe notes of blackberry, plum and dark fruit. The wine is dense and thickly extracted with a soft velvety texture and loads of oak influence. It will, no doubt, evolve into a beautiful wine in two or three more years: All the right elements are there and the wine seems poised for harmony and balance.  — M.L.  (9/1/2010)

Il Falchetto 2007 Lurei Barbera (Barbera d'Asti Superiore)

  • Online Exclusive
Red fruit notes of cherry and blackberry appear at first and are followed by subtle shadings of spice, chocolate and tobacco. The wine is tart and ripe with a blast of cleansing acidity and cherry on the close. Nice job.  — M.L.  (9/1/2010)

Il Falchetto 2006 Arneis (Langhe)

  • Online Exclusive
  1. $21
The Il Falchetto offers lovely aromas of fresh peach, honeysuckle and lime peel. The palate is more delicate but the wine is beautifully balanced, and initially, there is more than enough intensity of flavor. But as it moves towards the finish, it begins to run out of steam.  — M.G.  (12/31/2007)

Il Falchetto 2006 Chardonnay (Langhe)

  • Online Exclusive
  1. $17
This alluring Chardonnay displayed a gorgeous nose of vanilla and candied apricot. While it is relatively simple on the palate, the flavors are concentrated and it finishes well. Overall, an easygoing bottle of wine that will match most foods.  — M.G.  (12/31/2007)

Il Falchetto 2004 Ciombi (Not Imported) Moscato (Moscato d'Asti)

Pretty, delicate and foamy, this dessert wine seems sweet and fruity, yet elegant. Would pair best with desserts with higher acidity such as kiwi tart or fresh fruit salad. Imported by Vitis Imports.  — M.L.  (12/15/2005)

This Moscato d’Asti delivers traditional aromas of peach, apricot, honey and yellow rose. It boasts sweet softness in the mouth and a fine quality of effervescence that feels like plush foam in the mouth.  — M.L.  (12/31/2009)

Il Falchetto 2006 Tenuta Del Fant Moscato (Moscato d'Asti)

  1. $19
Very laid back, the nose shows some mango and pear, but you really have to go looking for them. In contrast, the palate is almost pushy–this is a big, fat intense wine. Essentially quite simple, but very tasty. Short to medium finish.  — M.G.  (12/31/2007)
