Why not an Oregon Grüner? With its nuanced aromas trailing flint and smoke through a core of grapefruit, pineapple and melon, this is a welcome warm weather wine. Just 12.5% alcohol, a solid midpalate and a hint of vanilla cookie in the lingering finish.

Stainless fermented and aged, this tart, apple-flavored Pinot Gris is close to fresh cider in flavor. The alcohol is low enough that it is almost invisible. Just pure, juicy, clean fruit comes through.

Soft and a little musty, this does not have the sharpness and grace of the previous vintage. Maybe just young, but at the moment it is a simple, pleasantly quaffable white wine.
