Impero 2001 Red (Amarone della Valpolicella Classico)
-
$48
Round, pure and smooth, with solid, praise-worthy aromas of toast, coffee, prune and licorice. Seems more subtle than some, and the flavors of kirsch, raspberry and vanilla are hardened just enough by coffee and tobacco nuances. Finishes long and soft, with chocolaty sweetness and textbook tannins.
