Inkberry 2009 Mountain Estate Shiraz-Cabernet Sauvignon (Central Ranges)
Best Buy
Price
$14
This 60-40 blend combines Shiraz’s blackberry fruit with Cab’s slightly herbal notes to make a pretty marriage. It shows enough firmness to stand up to rich, fatty meats now, or to sustain it through up to a decade of cellaring.

Inkberry 2007 Mountain Estate Shiraz-Cabernet Sauvignon (Central Ranges)
Price
$14
Starts off promising, with some dark fruit aromas and an attractive tea-like nuance, then delivers simpler, somewhat grapy fruit flavors. It’s full bodied, but with a certain reserve or austerity to its mouthfeel, finishing firm. Probably best in another year or two.

Inkberry 2006 Mountain Estate Shiraz-Cabernet Sauvignon (Central Ranges)

Pleasant aromas of jam and earth are held back by scents of glue and varnish that lurk around the edges. The lush palate is cleaner, with raspberry notes leading to a finish of black plums. Give it some air, but drink soon.
