Jeriko 2001 Brut Chardonnay (Mendocino)

  • Editors' Choice
  1. $50
Actually a Blanc de Blancs, since it’s 100% Chardonnay, this is a wine of great purity, maybe because of the organic grapes. The bread dough, vanilla and subtle peach flavors have a very rich, creamy texture, without the jaggedness of ordinary bubblies. This is an important new addition to California’s sparkling wine portfolio.  — S.H.  (6/1/2006)

Jeriko 2005 Reserve Chardonnay (Mendocino)

  1. $33
Polished and sophisticated Chard, easy to like for its dry crispness, and the way the bright acidity perks up the tropical fruit and mineral flavors. It’s 100% barrel-fermented, but the oak feels very natural and seamless. Finishes with real class and elegance.  — S.H.  (11/1/2007)

Jeriko 2010 Pommard Clone Pinot Noir (Mendocino)

  1. $64
With only 75 cases made, this is 100% Pommard clone Pinot in all its glory. Opening with a great red cherry nose, the wine is bright with a luscious texture, noticeable balance of acidity and depth and a long finish. A Mendo Pinot not from Anderson Valley that does the county proud. Made from biodynamic grapes.  — V.B.  (12/15/2011)

Jeriko 2010 Dijon Clone Pinot Noir (Mendocino)

  1. $48
This wine can stand a few more years in bottle to truly reveal itself but for now, it’s full-bodied yet supple and silky, with raspberry, cola and earthy spice notes throughout. Only 270 cases made of this biodynamic Pinot Noir, all Dijon clone, a fine representation of what Mendocino can do with Pinot outside of the Anderson Valley.  — V.B.  (12/15/2011)

Jeriko 2010 Reserve Pinot Noir (Mendocino)

  1. $38
Easier to find than Jeriko’s Pommard or Dijon bottlings, the Reserve is dark and earthy with mushroom, dark cherry and a tiny bit of spice floating behind the scenes. The 14.7% alcohol level brings this wine into a bigger style of Pinot territory but is welldone and should get even better with time.  — V.B.  (12/15/2011)

Jeriko 2010 Dijon Clone Chardonnay (Mendocino)

  • Online Exclusive
  1. $46
This Demeter-certified Biodynamic Chardonnay has nice color and full apple aromas, as well as a lot of depth and texture. The finish veers into caramel and vanilla, no stranger to oak.  — V.B.  (12/31/2011)

Jeriko 2005 Pinot Noir (Mendocino)

  1. $33
Made from organic grapes, this is a very dry wine. It has the silky delicacy of a fine Pinot, with subtle, complex cola, cherryskin, pomegranate and tea flavors. Those descriptors suggest the tannins, which are dry and sticky.  — S.H.  (11/1/2007)

Jeriko 2000 Chardonnay (Mendocino)

  1. $19
Extremely ripe fruity aromas and flavors of sweet pear and white peach mark this well-oaked wine, with its smoky vanillins and toasty edge. Feels a bit rough, and the finish has some jagged notes.  — S.H.  (6/1/2003)
