The Goldberg is an 8-acre vineyard, which produces dense and concentrated fruit from old vines. The wine has ripe, juicy fruit, intense tannins and a strong mineral character from the terroir. Barrique aging has added spice and vanilla and some smokiness, but the wood does not dominate the powerful fruit flavors.

Serious levels of wood run through this impressive wine, but never to the loss of the red fruits. There are hints of beetroot, layers of red plum juice, cranberry and acidity. The tannins are important now, and the wine does need to age.
